Musings not worth a penny!

There's already been too much talk about Twenty20 just a day after India emerged champs.Whether this format is the future of the game will be debated for more time...and it is too early to draw a conclusion and it is a difficult fact for the purists to accept that this world cup has been a huge hit.(3 posts ago...i was a purist.Still...test cricket is the real game for me..and Twenty20 comes second and Fifty50 third!!!)

Amidst all these drama...the EPL action going elsewhere was the subject of very less talk.Manchester United moved into second place after a disastrous start to the season. As a ManU fan...i am delighted by the 2-0 victory against rivals Chelsea. But a Chelsea fan(a friend of mine) said "It looked like that ref was paid by ManU".Generally,i wouldn't go as far as that but certainly John Obi Mikel did not deserve a red card..a yellow would have sufficed. But ManU was also on the receiving side for once, atleast.A clear penalty was denied to them just minutes after the start.Tevez was brilliant with the goal, the first for him playing for Manu. Now,the red devils are only behind Arsenal, who are in sublime form. With the way they are progressing, they might even run away with the title. They are the darkhorse this season as they seem to be the only team part of the 'Big 4' who are not burdened with expectations.Recently i signed up for the NFC manager on espnstar website. It is a really interesting format..where you are allowed to pick 11 members to your team and points will be given to you on the basis of their performance in the premiership. My 11 have got a poor start and i was already forced to make 3 changes to my team(You are allowed only 5 for the entire season). If you are interested do sign up for this

My col life is steadily unfolding without much activity. We are just beginning to get used to the complications of using the drafter and stuff like that.
By the way,I am planning to attend 'Shaastra' for the first time. For those who dont know...Shaastra is the annual tech fest of IIT-Madras.It is to celebrate the spirit of Engineering.Shaastra has the distinction of being the only student organized event in the world to be ISO 9001:2000 certified.I have been looking forward to attend this for a long time and this is my real good chance. It is scheduled from Oct. 3-7.I would like some comments telling about your experience of Shaastra if you have been to it.
